Only five ingredients. All food-contact safety certified.
Most food-contact filaments are tested only as a finished spool. Bambu Lab PLA Pure is tested ingredient by ingredient. From base material to pigment—just five ingredients, each one passing EU food-safety certification. A first in the category. Still the only one.
UL GREENGUARD certified. Cleaner air for indoor printing.
PLA Pure is certified to UL GREENGUARD (UL 2904), the recognized standard for 3D printer emissions. The particles and VOCs released measure below the levels of an average kitchen, living room, or office—cleaner than the air you're already breathing.
In a 4-hour continuous print test conducted by an accredited international laboratory, PLA Pure produced lower PM2.5 and PM10 emissions than a third-party PLA under identical conditions.*
Toy safety certified. Made for little hands.
Certified under EN 71-3*, the EU safety standard for toy materials, PLA Pure is designed for models that are touched, held, and played with. A pretend kitchen plate. A toy truck. A treat toy for the cat. PLA Pure is made for little hands and everyday moments at home.
Made for everyday objects.
Bambu PLA Pure is tested to EU No. 10/2011, the European Union's core regulation for plastics intended to come into contact with food. That purity is what makes PLA Pure right for the things you use most: kids' toys, household tools, and the small objects that live close to your hands.
Proven Strength.
Fewer additives doesn't mean weaker prints. PLA Pure matches Bambu PLA Basic in mechanical performance, with layer adhesion comparable to most PLA on the market. Purity and strength. No trade-off.
Purer Formula. Effortless Printing.
Fewer additives.* Cleaner composition. PLA Pure doesn't just raise the bar on safety. It prints smoother too. Reduced residue helps minimize nozzle clogs and keeps extrusion consistent, spool after spool.
Even without pre-drying, PLA Pure produces noticeably less stringing than typical third-party PLA. Fewer stray filaments. Cleaner surfaces. Less debris on the things you've made for everyday use.
RFID for Intelligent Printing
All printing parameters are embedded in RFID, which can be read through our AMS (Automatic Material System). Load. Sync. Print. No setup, no guesswork, just reliable results.
Printing Tips
1. Printing Tips
Food-contact certification applies to the filament itself. Producing food-contact-safe printed parts depends on equipment hygiene (particularly the nozzle), printing environment, and other factors.
Due to layer lines, printed parts are not suitable for holding liquid foods. Because of PLA's properties, do not expose printed parts to temperatures above 60°C. For detailed guidance, see the PLA Pure Advanced Printing Guide on the Bambu Lab Wiki.
Bambu PLA Pure is specifically developed for FDM 3D printing with both emission safety and contact safety in mind. When used with its default profile, it delivers excellent print quality and supports contact-safe performance. Because real-world use can vary across environments, conditions, and workflows, applications requiring a higher level of contact safety should follow additional guidance.
2. Accessory Compatibility
Compatible with all printers, AMS, build plate, and nozzles.
3. Drying Recommendations
Dry before use to ensure the best print quality and consistent finish. Store in a dry environment after use. For more details, please refer to: Filament drying instructions on WIKI.
4. Refill Guidelines
The refill filament needs to be used with a spool. For detailed instructions on how to swap in the new filament using the Bambu Reusable Spool, please refer to the guide on WIKI.5. Important Notice
Although this product has passed food-contact compliance testing at both the raw material and printed sample level, 3D printing is a multi-variable process. The quality and safety of finished prints depend on factors such as equipment, printing environment, operating procedures, and post-processing.
Bambu Lab's responsibility is limited to the compliance and quality of the filament material. Bambu Lab makes no express or implied warranties regarding the safety, suitability, or regulatory compliance of any user-produced prints produced by the user for food-contact applications.
Bambu Lab does not guarantee that such user-produced prints will meet applicable food-contact regulations, standards, or certification requirements in any jurisdiction, and shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect loss, claim, or liability arising from their use.
